HSBC Greater London Region were awarded a ‘Highly Commended’ at the recent Business Charity awards in the employee engagement category to recognize the work they have been doing with The Big Issue Foundation for the last year.
Over 250 HSBC Greater London employees have taken part in vendor volunteer days where staff members go out on the street to sell The Big Issue alongside some of our vendors for the day. As well as this, 250 employees participated in last years London Night Walk and many of The Big Issue Foundations other fundraising events. So far they have raised more than £70,000 for the Foundation.
Graham Booth, Community Support Officer, Greater London said: "We have pioneered a unique engagement programme that has educated and motivated employees across the region, embedding the partnership into everyday life at work. It’s wonderful that our colleagues have not only raised such a phenomenal amount of money, but also that this has been recognised externally."
