The Big Issue Foundation launches The Big Brum Night Walk!
The Big Issue Foundation's first ever Birmingham Night Walk will take place on Friday 5th October 2012 and will see over 150 walkers join together to raise money to support vital services in Birmingham.
The Big Brum Night Walk aims to show the city in a whole new light! Following a 23km route from Birmingham city centre, walkers will take in iconic sights of the city and will learn more about the history of homelessness in Birmingham – plus hear from some of the Big Issue Vendors that have pitches in Birmingham today.
Tom Belte, Service Broker at The Big Issue Foundation, said: "In these hard times, we are seeing an increase in rough sleeping in the city and there is an ever-expanding need to increase our support to homeless and vulnerably housed people. The Big Brum Night Walk will be a great way to increase awareness of our work and raise funds to directly support our vendors in the Birmingham area".
With an ambitious fundraising target of £30,000, The Big Issue Foundation is aiming to recruit 150 people to walk through the night in Birmingham – visit www.bigissue.org.uk/bigbrumwalk to join The Big Brum Night Walk team or to find out more.
