A mother and daughter duo braved a buzzcut to raise money for Big Issue vendors who are unable to work during the lockdown.
Whilst normal fundraising events have been postponed due to covid-19 our supporters have been getting creative and finding inventive and brilliant ways to support Big Issue vendors from their homes. Compelled to take action after finding out that Big Issue vendors were no longer able to sell the magazine and lost their source of income overnight, Charlotte and her mum decided to brave a buzzcut for Big Issue vendors!
‘While we are all lucky to have a safe place to social distance and food in our bellies during the pandemic, we were conscious that Big Issue vendors who are living in poverty and, in some cases are homeless, have no way of making a living during this time. As traditional fundraising was off the table due to lockdown, my mum and I decided to raise money for Big Issue vendors by shaving our heads!’
Through their Just Giving page and matched giving the incredible mum and daughter duo have raised over £960 to support Big Issue vendors during this difficult time. This fundraising will make a massive difference and could help to pay for 9 vendors gas and electricity bills at a time when they need it most.
We are so grateful for the dedication and commitment of people like Charlotte and her mum who are going above and beyond to ensure that our frontline team can deliver the vital work that they do during this crisis and beyond.
