This year is our fifth annual Big Knitathon! We’re looking for lots of new knitters, including beginners, to join in to help us raise funds from crafting to support Big Issue vendors!
Joining in is easy, whether you’ve been knitting for years or just picked up your needles. Take a look at Louise and friends blog about their successful knitathon last year for inspiration. Sally, Louise and Claudine took on a month of knitting and sold their items to friends and family, raising £1,000 to support Big Issue vendors. This event isn’t just for knitters, if you’d rather host a crochet, cross stitch or paper craft-athon then feel free!
In a few weeks you will be able to read our information pack with further details, but in the meantime you can register your interest for the event here.
This year, our friends at Hobbycraft will be opening up their stores across the country on Saturday 12th November to get knitters together to take part. We’d love you and your friends to be a part of this year’s Knitathon and have fun with fundraising this November! You may decide to get sponsored for the length of time you will be knitting, you could hold a craft sale or raffle off items you have made.
By taking part in The Big Knitathon, you will be supporting more vendors like June take positive steps forwards in their journeys away from the streets.
When you register to hold a Knitathon, we can send you some great knitting patterns, some balloons to decorate your event, a collection box, sponsor form and loads more!
