Walkers must be at least 12 years of age (by the event date) and any walkers under 18 need to be accompanied by a participating adult (over 18).
Your registration fee is non-refundable and no place is secured until this fee is paid. Upon registering you are committing to aim to raise a minimum of £250 (this does not include your registration fee).
You must send all donations received through fundraising for this event no later than 4 weeks after the completion of the event. This should not be cash sent through the post. It may be in form of cheque, bank transfer or over the phone payment.
If for any reason you or a team member choose not to take up your place in the event, all sponsorship forms and money collected must be forwarded to The Big Issue Foundation. You must inform us of this decision as soon as you are aware of it.
The Big Issue Foundation has no responsibility to ensure that you are fit for the event. You must ensure that you have the appropriate level of fitness to take part. You must confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, you are currently in a good state of health and that you will not take part in the event unless you are in a good state of health at the time. If you have any health concerns at the time about taking part, you should speak with a doctor and we may ask you to provide us with evidence to support any medical conditions. This information is securely destroyed within 5 days of the event finishing.
You/your team are taking part in the event at your own risk. Neither The Big Issue Foundation nor the organisers will have any responsibility for any risk, loss or costs which you incur in connection with the event and you will indemnify The Big Issue Foundation, the organisers and any persons acting on their behalf for any risk, damages, loss or costs arising as a result of your participation in the event.
Neither The Big Issue Foundation nor the organisers will carry insurance in relation to your personal possessions, so it is your responsibility to seek this if you require it. There is no cloak room at the event.
You/your team will comply with The Big Issue Foundation guidelines when fundraising. Details of these guidelines are available on request.
Any photographs taken at the event and given to The Big Issue Foundation of the event will be usable by The Big Issue Foundation for future publicity materials.
Prior to the event, you/your team will be responsible for your own safety, you will take reasonable care to ensure the safety of other participants and you will comply promptly with all instructions and guidelines given by The Big Issue Foundation, the organisers and any persons acting on their behalf.
You/your team accept that the interests and reputation of The Big Issue Foundation are of paramount importance. The Big Issue Foundation may at any time and at its sole discretion, cancel the event, change the published venues, withdraw your place on the event or exclude you from the event.
You/your team give permission to use your name, photograph, voice, or likeness in any broadcast, telecast, advertising promotion, or other account of this event, or marketing, promotion for future or similar events and waive any rights of privacy that you may have had in that regard.
