Be part of your own Tour de France as you cycle London to Paris to raise money for The Big issue Foundation. On this popular cycling challenge you’ll spend 4 days in the saddle, cycling 311 miles from capital to capital before soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying the finale of the Tour de France in Paris on the last day.
Your journey will begin in London with the route weaving through glorious English countryside from Kent to Dover, before crossing the Channel to Calais. Once across the water, you’ll start cycling ‘French style’, remembering to keep to the right! The route takes you along quiet French country lanes, through traditional market towns with views of the rolling green hills of Northern France, passing the war memorials and cemeteries of the Somme.
A spectacular finish awaits you on the home stretch around the Arc de Triomphe and down the Champs Elysées, before reaching the piece de resistance, the Eiffel Tower, which marks the finish line. The days in the saddle may be long but the sense of achievement you’ll feel crossing the finish line and the euphoric atmosphere as the group celebrates your achievements in this magnificent capital, the saddle soreness soon wears off. The pièce de résistance of this incredible challenge will be the final cycle to the Arc de Triomphe and on to the Champs-Élysées, following in the tyre tracks of the cycling greats before you watch them cycle the same route the next day in the finale of the Tour de France!
