Payroll Giving is an easy way for employees to give to charity tax-free and direct from their pay.
Giving your employees the opportunity to give through their pay shows your commitment to working with the wider community. It also costs very little to implement and is simple to run, in fact most companies say it takes just ten minutes a month to administer, even if you have thousands of employees.
And now, with the Quality Mark, employers who sign up to payroll giving are presented with a certificate and logo for use in their corporate literature. The Quality Mark also incorporates an awards scheme for employers who succeed in generating sustainable income streams for UK charities by promoting the scheme to staff and achieving minimum participation rates.
If you have any questions about the Quality Mark scheme, you can find out more here.
How can I set up payroll giving?
If you don’t yet have a payroll giving scheme, it is very easy to set one up.
- Register for free with a Government-approved Payroll Giving Agency. Take a look at the list below for more information about the options.
- Set up your payroll system for payroll giving.
- You’re ready to offer the scheme to your employees!
You can also ask a Professional Fundraising Organisation (PFO) to come and promote the scheme to your employees, which could help to boost your chances of earning a Payroll Giving Quality Mark. Please see below for a list of the PFOs we work with.
