With input from the Big Issue Foundation and vendors themselves, Fold7 have reworked the 12 Days of Christmas in an entertaining and light-hearted film – showing the positive ways in which the Foundation helps vendors to create a life out of a livelihood. You can click to watch the video below.
Sung as shared lines by the Big Issue vendors, the song has been crafted to increase awareness of the Foundation and encourage donations. The song also features cameos from Founder of the Big Issue Magazine, John Bird; CEO of the Foundation, Stephen Robertson; and avid supporter of the charity, actor Christopher Timothy.
In conjunction, a specially designed eCard including vendors’ unique stories, with the film embedded, will be sent out to The Big Issue Foundation’s database of donors and supporters to thank them for their on-going support.
Stephen Robertson, Chief Executive at The Big Issue Foundation said “The team at Fold7 have done an amazing job with this film and Christmas greeting! We’re delighted to have such an upbeat Christmas message to send out to our supporters that highlights the energy and positivity of our sellers on the streets.”
Jonny and Suzie, Creative team added “We would like to say a big thank you to all of the vendors who were involved with filming as well as to Tom, a volunteer for The Big Issue Foundation, without whom it would not have been possible for the day to run so smoothly. It was great to meet and work with each of the vendors, and we were humbled by their enthusiasm. Spending time with the vendors made us realise just how important the Foundation is and really highlighted the great work that they continue to do, which we are proud to support.”
It is hoped that the film will encourage people to donate to The Big Issue Foundation that provides guidance and support to Big Issue’s hardworking vendors.
Many thanks for your support to our vendors this winter.
