The Big Issue Foundation is thrilled to be working in collaboration with Saxoprint on The Great British Postcard Competition and are calling on creatives to depict what Britain means to them in 2017!

We want real perspectives from real people on what modern Britain is all about and seek unique, individual postcards from the UK’s finest creative minds; with a grand prize of £5k for the winning entry!

For more insight and details on how to enter the competition please visit The Great British Postcard Competition website.

In addition, Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd (PiL) frontman John Lydon (AKA ‘Johnny Rotten’) will lead the competition panel. John will be joined by experts from the worlds of art, design and print, and tasked with the difficult job of selecting the winners.”

"Postcards began for me at five years-old at the seaside with the saucy Donald McGill epics and all the various offshoots. Canvey Island and Southend were full of them. I loved them as simple and direct."

“The postcard form has many guises. I remember cards from Ireland, heavily colourised landscapes, or the architecture of Piccadilly Circus; full of red buses and so much more."
“Postcards are great things to send and receive. A good one captures an atmosphere, emotion or culture and a bad one can captivate with hilarious awfulness.”
