Recently we partnered with the Banking Media Corporation (BMC) to create a new video highlighting the work of The Big Issue Foundation. Check it out!
Our annual event, The Big London Night Walk returns on 2nd March this year and with a few places remaining we’d love to have you on board! On the night over 300 participants will walk a 13 mile route around the streets of London to support the work of The Big Issue Foundation.
The Big Issue Foundation aims to help Big Issue vendors by listening to the problems they face, identifying the support that is needed, and then working to enable each person to access the services that are most appropriate to their individual needs. Sometimes though we hear about a problem which doesn’t quite fit, where there isn’t a straightforward referral to be made or where the right advice seems to be missing. This is a time where a multi-agency approach can be beneficial not just to the vendors in question, but to try and improve the advice that is available to all.
The Big Issue Foundation are excited to announce our partnership with iBuy2Give, a brand new online marketplace and fundraising platform. iBuy2Give offers an alternative way of raising funds for charities and good causes throughout the UK. We are one of the first charities to get on board with this new initiative, which is due to launch in February. iBuy2Give targets bargain hunters with hopes of turning them into charity supporters.
This March, Big Issue Foundation CEO Stephen Robertson once again takes on the Big Night Walk! Taking supporters on a unique route through the iconic sights of London, the Big Night Walk stands in solidarity with our capital’s rough sleepers, many of whom find it safer to walk the streets at night than bed down to sleep.
Facebook has changed the algorithm that runs its news feed – but what does this actually mean?
Basically, moving forward, when you login to Facebook your news feed will mostly be filled with posts from your friends. Although this is great, it means posts from pages like ours will get seen less and less making it more difficult to spread our message about the work that we do.
We are delighted to announce that our film, ‘How hard is it to sell The Big Issue?’ has been shortlisted for The Charity Film Awards in the category: Longform – under £5m turnover.
