The Times Appeal Supports Big Issue Vendors

We are proud to announce that The Big Issue Foundation has been selected to be supported by The Times Appeal.

We are one of two charities chosen by the newspaper to receive funding to support our work during Covid-19.

We recognise that the COVID-19 crisis brings new and daily challenges for vendors, and so our mission remains 100% focussed on supporting vendors. Most vendors rely on week to week income and have zero to minimal savings and no support network to fall back on. The passionate support of Times readers and Big Issue believers will enable us to be that support network. We want to ensure Big Issue vendors receive the support they require during these unprecedented times.

Funds raised through the appeal will ensure that Big Issue vendors continue to remain in frequent contact with our frontline workers and are expertly supported by them – both over the phone and digitally – to access benefits, supermarket/food bank vouchers and any other type of financial and emotional support that they require during the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.

We continue to work on a one to one basis to understand vendors’ support needs and ensure they are connected to the health, housing and/or other specialist support services that are best able to help.

100% of the donations we receive from readers of The Times will go towards supporting our vendors during this crisis and beyond. Your support is vital in ensuring their most basic needs are met.

The generosity of the great British public knows no bounds and we would like to extend a BIG thank you to The Times and its readers during this time.

Thank you for your support and thank you for believing in Big Issue vendors.
